Current Electronic Service Address Providers for SMSFs

As highlighted in the broader discussion surrounding the impending PayDay Super changes, having a fully functioning Electronic Service Address (ESA) is a non-negotiable requirement for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs) looking to receive employer contributions or process rollovers effectively.

To assist trustees in maintaining compliance and navigating the digital SuperStream network, the ATO maintains a public register of approved ESA providers for SMSFs. It is essential to choose a provider from this list to guarantee that your fund can successfully and legally interact with the broader superannuation system.

When selecting an ESA, trustees must ensure the chosen provider supports the specific types of transactions the fund requires. Not all ESAs are created equal—some support contributions only, while others support both contributions and the complex data messaging required for rollovers and release authorities.

General SMSF Messaging Providers

These providers generally offer ESA services to the broader SMSF market. Examples of commonly used gateways that currently support both contributions and rollovers include:

  • BGL

  • Class Super

  • SuperMate

  • Wrkr

Providers that currently support contributions but not rollovers/release authorities include:

  • Westpac QuickSuper SMSF Gateway

  • Colladium SMSF Gateway

  • Macquarie Bank Limited

Restricted SMSF Messaging Providers

Certain providers offer ESA services that are exclusively restricted to their existing SMSF administration or platform clients. If you do not already utilise these service providers, you generally cannot access their ESA gateway. Examples include:

  • esuperfund (Supports both)

  • The Super Group (Supports both)

  • netwealth (Supports contributions only)

Please note that this list is subject to change based on provider capabilities and ATO reviews. Trustees should always verify the current status and capabilities of an ESA provider directly via the ATO website before making a final selection.
